Outward Bound

A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.
— john a. shedd

I’d heard this quote often in my time as graphic designer at Outward Bound, but I fully felt it’s meaning on this day, the last time we saw our house in Denver, as we drove away to start a new life. Although excited for all the open-ended possibility of our future, I was leaving my lifelong home and not headed to any known address. It was scary. Thrilling. Necessary. A perfect reflection of the spring weather - gloomy and uncertain in the moment - but our journey would be the refreshing, cleansing rain we needed.
